FOR SALE: 1971 Dodge Dart “Swinger”.

Two door hard-top sedan. Green with black vinyl roof. Interior is green and black. No A/C. Roll-up windows. The car was purchased locally in Connecticut in 2011 from a private party. Previous owner’s contact information is available. In 2014 the car was rebuilt by a respected Granby, CT shop.

The original Slant Six in-line 6 cylinder motor and automatic transmission were replaced by a 440 CID/ 7.2Liter Chrysler V-8 from a 1974 Chrysler Newport donor and matched with a four speed manual transmission from a Dodge Duster V8. Hurst shifter. Holley Double Pumper carburetor (HLY 4777C) with MOPAR Performance Dual Plane intake manifolds. Holley fuel pump. Schumacher headers. The odometer shows approximately 1700 miles. Builder says it has rolled once so approximately 101,700 miles.

The car was part of a small, eclectic collection left in the estate of my friend. I am selling for his family. I have all the documentation from the restoration but am not very knowledgeable about muscle cars, and especially MOPAR. Currently the car is a cool driver but not a show car. Its stance has a definite rake in photos, but pneumatic suspension allows substantial adjustments. The body appears rust free (benefits no doubt from its factory undercoating option), but there is surface corrosion on both bumpers as well as a small dent in the rear bumper left corner (see photo). Interior appears to be in good condition and the headliner looks new. The windshield washer plastic tank has deteriorated and needs to be replaced. Probably was too close to new exhaust header.

The car is in good driving condition and was just serviced by the original mechanic in June, 2023. The car is located in West Granby, Connecticut and is currently registered, running and available for road testing. We are asking $20,000.
